MLS Wednesday October 17

With the MLS regular season coming to a close, I like DC to to get a win and come closer to clinching a playoff berth:

5 unit bet on DC United -.75 @1.78

DC United-Toronto FC

When you look at this game, I think the main thing that stands out is the difference in motivation for these two teams.  DC have everything to play for, they’ve climbed all the way from the bottom of the table up to the playoff places and now that they are in a playoff spot, they need to continue to fight to hold onto it with just three games remaining.  Montreal is just a point behind and can pounce if DC slips up, so these last few games are must wins. On the other hand, Toronto has nothing to play for now that they have been eliminated from playoff contention and I think they would like this disappointing season to just come to an end.

In addition, Toronto will be without quite a few key players, with Sebastian Giovinco with the Italian team, Michael Bradley with the USA squad, and Victor Vazquez out injured.  DC is missing several players through injury and international duty as well, but they do have the core of their top players available and most importantly, Wayne Rooney and Lucho Acosta will be in the line up.

And even if all players were available for Toronto, I still think DC would be the team to back,  They are one of the most in form teams in MLS, with four wins in the last five and have been dominating when they play at home.  Toronto’s results have been quite erratic and they have just one win in their last five away games. Audi Field should be rocking for this game and I think Rooney and Acosta should be able to find the back of the net against a Toronto team that allows a lot of goals.  I think DC wins this game 3-1

Saturday-Sunday October 13-14

Not a lot of games going on this weekend during the International break, but two that I like:

1 unit bet on Scunthorpe United-Peterborough United Over 3 @1.89

1 unit bet on Palmeiras ML @1.89

Scunthorpe United-Peterborough United

Peterborough’s League One games this season are averaging 3.9 goals per match, while Scunthorpe’s are averaging 3.7.  These are the two highest averages in the league and Scunthorpe’s average jumps to 4.3 for their home games, while Boro’s jumps to 4.5 for their away games.  Peterborough have the most goals scored in the league, while Scunthorpe have the second most allowed.  Both meetings last season had at least three goals and I think this one will as well.   I like this to be a 2-2 draw

Palmeiras-Gremio

One of the main factors in this match is that Gremio will be missing several regular starters due to injury and international duty, but even with a full squad, I still think that Palmeiras would still be the right side to back.  Palmeiras are currently the Brasileirao leaders, but need to keep getting results, as there are several other contenders just a few points behind and they have done very well against Gremio in recent meetings.  They have won three straight head to head and four of five at home.  Palmeiras have won 10 of 13 home games in the league the season, including each of the last five.  They have allowed just one goal in their last five at home, scoring nine during that time.  For Gremio, even though they are not too far down the table, I think their main focus has to be on Copa Libertadores at this point, where they will be facing River Plate in the semifinals very soon.  With Gremio missing players and Palmeiras playing in Sao Paulo, I think the home team should get the win here.  I like Palmeiras here 2-0

UEFA Nations League October 11-13

Another International break and more of the Nations League in Europe this weekend.  And there are some good match ups, with a rematch of the World Cup Semis, as England go to Croatia, Portugal travel to Poland without Ronaldo, and two World Cup Quarterfinalists face off with Russia hosting Sweden.  I like four bets for Thursday-Saturday:

1 unit bet on Croatia-England Over 2 @1.83

1 unit bet on Russia-Sweden to Draw @3.31

1 unit bet on Poland-Portugal to Draw @3.17

1 unit bet on Slovakia-Czech Republic to Draw @3.43

Croatia-England

This is a very low total for two teams that have a lot of talented attacking players.  Croatia are very good when they play at home and they have scored at least once in their past 20 matches on home soil.  But they are off of a 6-0 thrashing by Spain in their first Nations League match and they have kept just two clean sheets in their past ten matches.  England have only been held scoreless twice in their past ten games (both against Belgium) but have just three clean sheets during that time.  I think both teams score in this game and I like this to go over 2.  I think Croatia win 2-1

Russia-Sweden

Russia is at home for this one and come into this game in good form and confidence after beating  Turkey 2-1 in their group match and then the Czechs 5-1 in a friendly in September.  Sweden fell to Turkey, giving up two late goals, but I think they perform better here and they are always a tough team to beat.  Just about every Sweden match is low scoring and close and I think this game will be no different.  I think this will be a 1-1 draw

Poland-Portugal

Poland drew both of their matches during the September International break, both 1-1 against Ireland and Italy.  Portugal have drawn two of the last four and five of the past ten.  Portugal tend to play very close games and only two of their past ten have been decided by more than a single goal.  Head to head, the last three meetings have all been draws and I think this match is very even as well.  I think this is a 1-1 match

Slovakia-Czech Republic

Both sides lost to the Ukraine in their first Nations group game, but these matches were very close, with the Czechs nearly getting a point before conceding a late goal to lose 2-1 and the Slovaks fell 1-0, also on a late goal.  I think this is a very even match up and I think this game ends 1-1

Sunday October 7

Six bets for Sunday, two in Italy, and one each in England, Spain, France, and Portugal:

5 unit bet on Fiorentina +.75 @1.83

1 unit bet on Man City +.25 @1.79

1 unit bet on Sampdoria +1 @1.85

1 unit bet on Marseille-Caen Over 2.75 @1.81

1 unit bet on Valencia-Barcelona Under 3 @1.98

1 unit bet on Benfica-Porto to Draw @3.24

Lazio-Fiorentina

Lazio have had a rough week, falling in the Rome Derby and then dropping their Europa League match on Thursday away to Eintracht Frankfurt.  And the schedule does not get any easier with a very tough match against Fiorentina and though this match is in Rome, I like the visitors in this one.  Three games in a week is tough for any team and when it is against three very strong opponents, it is very tiring and I do no think any team would be at full strength with such little rest and a good bit of travel between games.  And Fiorentina would be a difficult opponent at any time and with them well rested, I think they will be ready to get a result in this match.  Fiorentina are above Lazio in the Serie A table, they have scored more goals and have conceded fewer.  I like Fiorentina to come away with a 2-1 win in this match

Liverpool-Manchester City

Even though this match is at Anfield, I feel that Man City is in a better position for this match, as Liverpool have had a brutal run of fixtures in the past two weeks.  The Reds had to face Chelsea twice, once in the League Cup and once at Stamford Bridge in PL play.  They then had to make a long trip to Italy to face Napoli in Champions League play on Wednesday.  That is a lot of difficult games in a very short period of time.  In the same period, Man City cruised to victories over Oxford Utd in the Cup and Brighton in the PL and though they had to work hard to get a win over Hoffenheim in the CL, they have had an extra day of rest to recover.   Man City come into this game in better form and a bit better rested and that makes them the slight favorite in my opinion.  I think City wins this match 2-1

Atalanta-Sampdoria

I am surprised to see Atalanta as such a big favorite for this match, as they have not had very strong results this season and sit just above the relegation zone with just one win so far.  Sampdoria were a very poor away team last season, but they have taken four points from their first three road games this campaign, and more importantly, have allowed just one goal.  I like Sampdoria in this one and think they get a 2-1 win

Valencia-Barcelona

Barca had a huge win midweek in the Champions League and scored four times in London, but their La Liga form has been a different story.  Winless in their last three and they have scored just once in the past two games.  And Valencia is a very difficult team to beat and very tough to score on.  Only one of nine competitive matches this season have gone over 3 goals and head to head, just one of the past five meetings in Valencia have gone over 3.  With Valencia at home, I think they will give Barca a very tough match and I think this game ends 1-1

Marseille-Caen

Marseille have played 10 matches this season, eight in Ligue 1 and two more in the Europa League, and all 10 have had at least three goals.   I have bet the over in just about every game they have played this season and am going to continue to do so.  They are not only scoring a ton, but are giving up a bunch as well and I think that trend continues against Caen.  I think this match ends 2-2

Benfica-Porto

Both meetings two seasons ago were draws, as was the first meeting last season.  The second match last season was also nearly a draw, until a late Porto goal gave them the win.  This match is always close and very intense and this meeting will likely be the same.  I think this match ends 1-1

Saturday October 6

Four bets for Saturday:

5 unit bet on Leicester-Everton Over 2.5 @1.95

1 unit bet on Alaves +1.5 @1.93

1 unit bet on Mainz-Hertha Berlin to Draw @3.37

1 unit bet on Crystal Palace-Wolves to Draw @3.22

Leicester City-Everton

Both sides have had five of seven matches this season go over 2.5 goals and head to head, three of the last four and seven of nine have had three or more goals.  Leicester have scored in each Premier League game this season and have at least two in five of seven.  The only two teams that they didn’t score twice on were Liverpool and Man Utd.  Everton have scored at least twice in four games this season and have only been held scoreless one time.  They have just one clean sheet though and Leicester have also conceded quite a few this season and have just two clean sheets. Both of these teams can score and I think both are likely to find the back of the net on Saturday.  With Leicester at home, I think they win and score multiple times in this match.  I like the Foxes to win 3-1

Alaves-Real Madrid

Winless in three straight and amazingly, without a goal scored during this period, this is a tough spot for Real Madrid.  In addition to their poor form, they had to make a long trip to Russia and I think there might be some tired legs after so much travel.  And Real face a tough opponent who have had a strong start to the season and are unbeaten at home so far this season.  This will be a tough game for Los Blancos and I think Alaves will keep this a close match.  I think this game ends 1-1

Mainz-Hertha Berlin

An interesting match up between a team that scores a lot of goals and one that scores very few.  Mainz have just four goals scored this season, but they have only allowed four as well and they are unbeaten in three matches at home.  Hertha have scored 12 times in Bundesliga play and are off of a big upset over Bayern last Friday.  That match was in Berlin though and they haven’t been quite as strong inn away games this season.  With Mainz at home this should be tight, close match and I think this game ends 1-1

Crystal Palace-Wolves

Two of the lower scoring teams in the Premier League meet here, with Palace having just 5 goals so far and Wolves with just 8.  But these two also concede very few and just about every game these two play is close.  Palace matches are averaging just 1.9 goals per match and Wolves average just 2.  With two teams that play lots of low scoring games, the chances of a draw are fairly high and I think this game ends level at 1-1

Friday October 5

Three bets for Friday:

1 unit bet on Werder Bremen-Wolfsburg Over 2.5 @1.81

1 unit bet on Brighton-West Ham to Draw @3.21

1 unit bet on Feirense-Belenenses to Draw @3.15

Werder Bremen-Wolfsburg

Five of six Bundesliga matches have gone over 2.5 goals for Wolfsburg, while four of six have gone over that number for Werder Bremen.  And when you look at the head to head meetings between these teams, just about every recent match has gone over 2.5 goals.  Nine of the last ten have had at least three goals and both teams have scored in eight of ten.  This season, Bremen have lost just once and have scored in every match, with at least two in four of six.  But they are yet to keep a clean sheet. Wolfsburg have had a similar season with just one loss and having scored at least twice in four of six games.  But they too have conceded quite a few, with just one clean sheet on the season.  This is a game where I think both teams can score and I like this to go over 2.5 goals.  I think Werder Bemen wins this match 3-1

Brighton-West Ham

Two teams that are right next to each other in the table and have almost identical records and goal difference.  West Ham is in 13th and climbing the table, unbeaten in three and they are looking strong after a very poor start.  Brighton have fallen just below the Hammers to 14th after consecutive losses, though the defeats came to very strong opponents.  Brighton are a strong team at home and this gives them a bit of an advantage, but with West Ham in good form, this match should be very even and I think there is a good chance of a draw.  I think this match ends 1-1

Feirense-Belenenses

Two teams that have played very low scoring games so far this season.  Both have scored just four times in six league games, but neither gives up many goals either.  Feirense are yet to lose at home, with a win and two draws, but Belenenses are a tough team to beat and have only fallen to Porto and Braga.  This should be a close one and I think this has a good chance to be a 0-0 or 1-1 game

Europa League October 4

Just one bet in the Europa League on Thursday:

1 unit bet on Salzburg-Celtic Over 2.75 @1.94

Red Bull Salzburg-Celtic

Salzburg have been scoring a ton of goals this season and have at least two in eight straight matches and all eight of those games have gone over 2.5 goals.  They have been conceding quite a few goals though and have kept just one clean sheet in the last eight matches.  Their first Europa League game this season was an entertaining 3-2 win over RB Leipzig and both of their home games in Champions League qualifying had at least three goals.  These two met in the Europa League back in 2014 and both games ended with four goals.  I think there will be a similar result on Thursday and I like Salzburg to win here 3-1

Champions League Preview October 3

A huge game at Wembley on Wednesday with Spurs hosting Barcelona and Liverpool have a tough trip to Italy.  Four bets for me on Wedesday:

1 unit bet on Spurs-Barcelona Over 2.75 @1.79

1 unit bet on Borussia Dortmund-Monaco Over 3 @1.82

1 unit bet on Napoli-Liverpool to Draw @3.60

1 unit bet on Lokomotiv Moscow-Schalke to Draw @3.27

Tottenham-Barcelona

Tottenham leads the Premier League in most games to go over 2.5 goals, with six of seven ending with at least three goals. Last season in the Champions League, five of six in the Group Stage went over 2.5 and both games played in the knockout round did as well.  When playing at home, Spurs scored three in each Group Stage match last season, but they have kept just two clean sheets so far this season and kept just two in the Champions League last season, both against the weakest opponent they faced in APOEL.

Barca are in the middle of a rough patch, but they still lead La Liga in goals scored and five of their seven league matches have had at least three goals.  They have yet to be held scoreless in a match this season and they come into this match well rested, with Messi coming off the bench at the weekend.  Barca have been clearly targeting this match and though their recent results have not been great, I expect a much stronger performance on Wednesday.  I think both teams score in this match and I think this ends as a 2-2 draw

Borussia Dortmund-Monaco

Dortmund have come into great goal scoring form and have 11 in their past two games.  They also have scored at least three in each of their home games this season.  Monaco has not had a very good start to the season, but they had a ton of injuries to deal with and they are starting to get healthy again.  Dortmund are extremely tough in front of their home fans and in their current form, I am expecting them to score multiple times.  But the last time these two faced off in Champions League play, Monaco won both matches and scored three times in each.  Don’t think they can do that again, but I do like their chances of scoring on Wednesday.  I think this will be a 3-1 win for Dortmund

Napoli-Liverpool

This is a tough spot for Liverpool, away in a hostile environment after a very intense match with Chelsea on Saturday and another huge Premier League game with Man City coming up this Sunday.  Napoli are off a big game as well against Juventus, but they are very strong at home and have won all three of their Serie A games this season as hosts.  Napoli have also been scoring a lot of goals in recent games and have scored three in two of their past three matches.  Liverpool are having a great season and have been very strong defensively, but I think this is going to be a tough match.  I think this will be very close and I think it will end 1-1

Lokomotiv Moscow-Schalke

Lokomotiv lost big to Galatasaray in the first Group match, but at home, they tend to play much better, and play a lot of close, low scoring games.  Three of five at home have ended as draws for Lokomotiv and another two on the road have ended level as well.  Schalke started the season very poorly, losing the first five in the Bundesliga, though they picked up a win this past weekend over Mainz.  They also got a draw against Porto in their first Group game and I think this trip to Moscow will be a close game as well.  I think this match ends 1-1

And the other four games on Wednesday:

Paris St Germain-Red Star Belgrade: Lean PSG -3 @1.90

Red Star got a great result in their first Group Stage game, holding Napoli to a 0-0 draw.  Belgrade is a very difficult place to play and they may be able to pick up a few more points when PSG or Liverpool come to Serbia.  But for these away games, I think they will be overmatched and I am expecting a big PSG win on Wednesday.  PSG has scored at least three times in every Ligue 1 game and scored twice on Liverpool at Anfield.  Red Star did well to qualify for the Group Stage, but away in Paris is going to be too much for this team.  I am going to going to predict a 4-0 win for PSG, but I think there is a good chance it is worse than that

Atletico Madrid-Club Brugge: Lean Under 2.5 @1.79

Only one of Atletico’s matches in La Liga this season have gone over 2.5 goals and no game has had more than 3 goals.  They have kept three clean sheets in a row and have clean sheets in two of their three home games this season.  Club Brugge lost a close game 1-0 to Dortmund in their first Group game and I think they will want to keep this a low scoring game.  I like Atletico to win here 2-0

PSV Eindhoven-Inter Milan: Lean Inter PK @1.83

Not the best start to the season for Inter, nor was the start to their first Group Stage match against Spurs very strong, but they came back with two late goals to win that match and since then, they have won three straight in Serie A and have allowed just one goal.  PSV have had a perfect start in the Eredivisie, winning all seven games that they have played, but they were blown out 4-0 by Barca in their first Group Stage match and I think these La Liga and Serie A teams are a bit too strong for them.  I like Inter to win here 2-1

FC Porto-Galatasaray: Lean Over 2.5 @1.85

Galatasaray won their first Group match 3-0 over Lokomotiv, but their away form has been very poor this season and they have lost their last two road games by a combined score of 7-0 and all three away games have gone over 2.5.  Porto have had 3 of 4 at home go over 2.5 goals this season and I think there will be at least a few scored on Wednesday.  I like Porto to win here 2-1

Champions League Preview October 2

Matchday two in the Champions League begins on Tuesday and some important games as Manchester City travels to Germany needing a win, a struggling Real Madrid have a tough trip to Russia, and Jose Mourinho is fighting to save his job as Man Utd host Valencia.  Three bets on Tuesday:

1 unit bet on Lyon-Shakhtar Over 2.75 @1.82

1 unit bet on CSKA-Real Madrid Under 3 @1.98

1 unit bet on AEK Athens-Benfica to Draw @3.23

Lyon-Shakhtar Donetsk

Lyon pulled off the shock of the tournament so far, winning away in Manchester 2-1 over Man City and since that match have scored 8 times in three Ligue 1 matches.  Lyon will most likely score in this match as well against a Shakhtar side that conceded at least once in each Champions League game last season and allowed two to Hoffenheim in their first match this season.  But Shakhtar also tend to score in these European matches and six of the last seven have gone over 2.5 for the Ukrainian club.  I like both teams to score here and think this match will be a 3-1 win for Lyon

CSKA Moscow-Real Madrid

Real won their first Group Stage match 3-0 at home over Roma, but have had a rough time since, especially in front of goal.  Just one goal in the last three La Liga matches and two shutouts last week, first by Sevilla and then by Atletico Madrid on Saturday.  And they will be without Gareth Bale for this trip to Moscow, which means one less goal scorer for Los Blancos.  CSKA are not having a very good season and have a ton of injury concerns, but with this at home, I am expecting them to try to park the bus and keep this a low scoring match.  These two have played once before in Moscow, and that match ended 1-1.  I think there will be a similar result on Tuesday and while I think Real get the win, I think this is a 1-0 or 2-0 match

AEK Athens-Benfica

Last season in Europa League play, AEK had draws in eight of ten matches and four of their five home games ended all level.  They followed that up with two draws in Champions League Qualifying this season, one in each of their ties against Celtic and MOL Vidi.  I think Benfica are the stronger team, but Athens is a very difficult place to play and AEK will be very tough team to defeat.  This should be a very close game and I think this match ends 1-1

And the rest of the action on Tuesday:

Hoffenheim-Manchester City: Lean Man City -1.5 @1.94

This is a very important match for Man City and they know that they need to pick up three points after falling to Lyon in the first round of the Group Stage.  That loss seemed to be a big wake up call for City and since that loss, they have won three straight by a combined score of 10-0.   It’s been a bit of an up and down campaign for Hoffenheim, with a couple nice results like a draw against Dortmund and a draw away to Shakhtar, but also a couple bad losses.  Most noticeable though, is that they have given up a ton of goals this season.   They are yet to keep a clean sheet and that should be worrying when coming up against this City team.  I like Man City to get a 3-1 win in this match

Juventus-Young Boys: Lean Under 3 @2.03

Eight games played and eight wins for Juventus, top of Serie A and the likely candidate to win Group H in the Champions League.  Not much negative to say about this team, but they haven’t had any blow out wins and just about every game has been relatively low scoring.  Just two of eight have had more than three goals and no Ronaldo here, so not as much of a goal threat from the Italian side in this one.  Young Boys scored a few goals in Qualifying, but were shut out by Manchester United in the first Group Stage match and I think they will likely be shut down again here.  I think Juventus win 2-0

Bayern Munich-Ajax: Lean Over 3.5 @1.97

Both teams won their first Group game, but Bayern have hit a bit of a rough patch in the Bundesliga, drawing with Augsburg last Tuesday and then losing away to Hertha on Friday.  A lot of pressure on this team and especially on new coach Niko Kovac to turn things around and I think they respond with a big game here.  Bayern did win their first two home matches of the season 3-1 over Hoffenheim and Leverkusen and I think they are likely to put at least two or three in the net on Tuesday.  But Ajax can score as well, they put three past AEK Athens in their first Group match and in six Qualifying matches, they scored at least two times in five.  I like both teams to score here and think Bayern get a 3-1 win

AS Roma-Viktoria Plzen: Lean Over 3 @1.89

Roma are a huge favorite here and come into this game in good form, having won their last two games by a combined score of 7-1.  And here they face a team that has allowed at least two goals in each of their last five Champions League games.  But Roma have been allowing quite a few goals as well and they have given up at least two in their last three in the Champions League.  These two teams met in the Europa League a couple seasons ago and the match in Rome ended as a 4-1 win for the Italian club.  I think there will be a similar result here and I like Roma to win 3-1

Manchester United-Valencia: Lean Valencia +.75 @2.00

Valencia got their first win of the season on Saturday, a 1-0 victory away to Real Sociedad and while that record sounds poor, they have been getting a ton of draws.  This Valencia team may not be the strongest, but they don’t allow many goals and are extremely tough to defeat.  And with Manchester United on the verge of imploding, this is a match where Valencia can certainly come away with a result, even if it is at Old Trafford.   Sevilla upset United in Manchester last season and I think Valencia may do the same on Tuesday, in what may be the end for Jose Mourinho.  I like Valencia here 2-1

Premier League Preview Sep 29-30

The Premier League kicks off this weekend with Manchester United traveling to London to face West Ham and includes a huge headlining match between Chelsea and Liverpool facing off at Stamford Bridge.  A couple overs and a few draws I like this weekend:

1 unit bet on Everton-Fulham Over 3 @1.98

1 unit bet on Chelsea-Liverpool Over 2.75 @1.81

1 unit bet on Newcastle-Leicester to Draw @3.33

1 unit bet on Cardiff City-Burnley to Draw @3.09

1 unit bet on Bournemouth-Crystal Palace to Draw @3.48

Everton-Fulham

Fulham’s league matches this season are averaging 3.5 goals per game, which is second most in the league and behind only Man City.  This number jumps up to 3.7 goals per match for their away games and all three road games have had at least three goals.    Fulham are yet to keep a clean sheet in Premier League play and with 13 goals allowed, they are only behind Huddersfield and Cardiff in goals conceded.  But Fulham can score and Everton are also without a clean sheet this season.  Two teams that have strong attacks, but can struggle defensively, so I think we should see some goals in this match.  I think this game ends 2-2

Chelsea-Liverpool

These two just faced each other on Wednesday in the League Cup in a match that ended as a 2-1 win for Chelsea.  There was a bit of rotation for that match with guys like Salah, Firmino, and Hazard only coming on as second half substitutions.  Now with those guys playing the full match, I think there is likely to be even more scoring in this one.   These two sides both have 14 goals scored this season, which is only behind Man City for most in the league.  There will be a lot of firepower on the pitch for this match and I like both teams to score and think this game ends 2-2

Newcastle United-Leicester City

Newcastle are in the relegation zone in 18th place, but every game they have played has been close and when you look at the competition they have faced, it does not look nearly as bad.  They face another strong opponent here, though not quite as tough as several of Newcastle’s previous opponents.  Leicester can score a lot of goals but have allowed too many, while Newcastle are the opposite, as they have struggled offensively, but have not allowed too many.  All in all, I think this match is very even and I think this game ends 1-1

Cardiff City-Burnley

Burnley had a very rough start to the season, but they did pick up a victory in their last match and now that they are no longer in the Europa League, I think they will continue to see improved results in the league.  But Cardiff have been tough to beat at home and picked up a draw against Newcastle and had a close loss to Arsenal.  I think Burnley are the stronger team, but with Cardiff at home, this should be a very close match and I think this game ends 0-0

Bournemouth-Crystal Palace

Both times these teams met last season, the matches ended as draws and I think this meeting will be a close game as well.  Palace have played close, low scoring games in just about every game this season, with just one league match having more than two goals.  Palace have played tough defensively and though Bournemouth can score a lot of goals, I think it will be difficult to find a breakthrough in this match.  I think this looks like a very even match and I think this ends as a 1-1 draw

And the rest of the Premier League matches this weekend:

West Ham-Manchester United: Lean West Ham +.75 @1.85

After a terrible start, West Ham have now rebounded nicely with a win and a draw in the Premier League and got a huge 8-0 win midweek in the League Cup.  A much stronger opponent here, but still like the way the Hammers have played the past few games.  And Man Utd come into this game in a tough spot after an embarrassing loss to Derby in the League Cup and a Champions League match with Valencia coming up in just a few days.  At home and in decent form, I like West Ham to get a result over a team that is having a lot of issues at the moment.  I think this match ends 1-1

Arsenal-Watford: Lean Watford +1.25 @1.88

Arsenal have now won four straight Premier League games and have moved up to sixth in the table, but it is Watford who are higher in the standings.  The Hornets continue to get results and even their one loss this season was by just a single goal.  And even though Arsenal are playing very well, they are allowing a lot of goals and have just one clean sheet so far this season.  I think Watford is strong enough to get a result and I think this match ends 2-2

Huddersfield Town-Tottenham: Lean Under 2.75 @1.83

Tottenham are clearly the stronger side here and Huddersfield have already been soundly defeated by other top clubs like Chelsea and Man City.  But Tottenham enters this match in a huge look ahead spot, with a massive Champions League game with Barcelona coming up on Wednesday.  There is no way they can be fully focused on this match and they also lost prior to their first Champions League game of the season.  Spurs should still win, but I think it will be a closer match than normal.  I think this will be a 2-0 win for Tottenham

Manchester City-Brighton: Lean Brighton +2.5 @2.06

Like Spurs, I think Man City may be a bit more focused on their upcoming Champions League match and after dropping their first European match to Lyon, they really need to pick up a win against Hoffenheim on Tuesday.  And Brighton have played very tough against the big clubs so far this season, upsetting Man Utd and playing close matches with Spurs and Liverpool.  I like Man City to win here 3-1

Wolves-Southampton: Lean Wolves ML @1.81

Wolves have been one of the most impressive teams so far this season and after six matches, they have lost just once and picked up points against both Manchester clubs.  Southampton, on the other hand, have just one win and have lost two of their three away games this season.   Wolves look to be a very solid team and with this at home, I think they pick up a 2-0 win
